In the middle of the American desert, U.S.S. LAB, a scientific research center, is conducting complex experiments on human subjects under the authority of the U.S. Army. As the scientists work like dogs to make headway with the G.E.N.O.M.E. project, one of the subjects escapes: Subject 111, AKA Thorn.
After wreaking havoc at the lab, eight-year-old Thorn goes in search of food and shelter.
Harold, an honest retiree, single and childless, takes him in. At Harold’s, Thorn discovers a very different lifestyle from what he knew at the lab and it takes some getting used to. With the help of a former member of the G.E.N.O.M.E. Project, Thorn tries to figure out who he is and why he is in danger. He constantly feels torn between wanting a normal childhood and rising up to the responsibilities that come with his great powers.
